Assigning Students Access to Word Warm-ups Live

Notes

  • ​A student must have a Read Live license to work in any Read Live application.
  • To work in Word Warm-ups Live, students need to be assigned access to the Word Warm-ups application. The Staff Member Module is used to add access. 
  • Any Staff member in the Teacher, School Coordinator, or Account Administrator role can give students access to Word Warm-ups Live.

Assign Word Warm-ups Live access to individual students:
Staff Members can give Word Warm-ups Live access to individual licensed students, one at a time, on the Student Details page.

  1. Log in to the Staff Member Module.
  2. If you are a Teacher, from the navigation menu, select Student Setup.
    If you are an Account Administrator or School Coordinator, from the navigation menu, select Student Administration, and then click Student Setup.
  3. Sort and filter the list of students to find the one to whom you want to assign Word Warm-ups Live access.
  4. Click the student's last name.
  5. On the Student Details page, below the License heading, verify that the student has a license and Lead Teacher. 
  6. Select the Word Warm-ups Live checkbox. 
    The default assignment is Level 1, Section B, with a word list goal of 40 wcpm. You can change that based on the recommended Section from the WWL Phonics Assessment. See Placing Students in Word Warm-ups Live using a phonics assessment.
  7. Click Save & Close.

Assign Word Warm-ups Live access to a group of students:
Staff Members can also assign licenses to more than one student at a time on the Word Warm-ups Live Student page.

  1. Log in to the Staff Member Module.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Word Warm-ups Live.
  3. Sort and filter the list of students to find those to whom you want to assign Word Warm-ups Live access. 
    Note that the WW-ups Access column shows which students already have access to the application.
  4. Select the checkbox to the left of each student who will use Word Warm-ups Live. To select multiple students at once, check the box to the left of the student's name, scroll to the bottom of the list, hold your SHIFT key down while checking the box to the left of the final student's last name.
  5. Click the Add WWL Access button at the top of the screen. The default assignment is Level 1, Section B, with a word list goal of 40 wcpm. You can change that based on the recommended Section from the WWL Phonics Assessment.

  6. Click the Yes button to confirm adding access to the selected students.
