Placing students in Word Warm-ups Live using a phonics assessment

Notes

  • Each student in Word Warm-ups Live starts with a default assignment in Level 1, Section B, with a word list goal of 40. 
  • Select Word Warm-ups Live from the Read Live home page. Click on the Print Phonics Assessment to open the document needed to assess the student's phonics needs. Edit the student's assignment based on assessment results.
Assessing a student’s phonics needs using the Word Warm-ups Live Phonics assessment:
  1. Log in to the Staff Member Module.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Word Warm-ups Live.
  3. Click the Print Phonics Assessment button.
    A PDF opens in a separate browser tab.
  4. Follow the administration instructions to administer an initial phonics placement assessment. 

Enter a student’s level and goal based on previous phonics assessment:

  1. Log in to the Staff Member Module.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Word Warm-ups Live.
  3. Click the Scope and Sequence to align your student’s phonics needs with Word Warm-ups Live level, section, and goal.
  4. Use sorting and filtering to find the student whose placement you need to change on the list.
  5. Under the Assign column, Click the Edit button for the student.
  6. Choose a new Level or Section assignment for the student using the drop-down controls. If necessary, change the student's Goal using that control.
  7. Click Save & Close.
