Why Most School Change Efforts Fail (and What to Do Instead)
Jenny French

Over 80% of school initiatives fail each year contributing to a growing crisis of initiative fatigue. Educators and leaders are burning out and not because they resist change, but because they're overwhelmed by poorly executed ones. We’ll unpack why initiatives fail and what it takes to launch and sustain lasting change. You’ll leave with practical tools to conduct an Initiative Audit, and the steps to lead a strategic process for implementing initiatives that stick.

Smart Strategies for Better Reading Fluency, Comprehension, and Vocabulary
Diana Phillips

Learn how to improve fluency, support vocabulary development, and promote comprehension by combining three powerful, research-based strategies: teacher modeling, repeated reading, and progress monitoring. Using these highly effective strategies is proven to accelerate reading achievement, especially in struggling readers. Participants will experience the Read Naturally Strategy firsthand through an engaging, interactive demonstration.

Transforming Evidence Writing Instruction Across Content Areas (with AI Support)
Jenny French, Katie McKnight

Explore how AI is transforming evidence-based writing instruction for grades 4–12. This session highlights practical applications of AI in peer editing, personalized coaching, and formative assessment, helping students improve critical thinking and use of textual evidence across content areas. Attendees will discover effective strategies, real-world examples, and ethical considerations for integrating AI tools, empowering educators to support all learners while enhancing writing instruction.
