Read Naturally Live: Reports show inaccurate time spent

2501 Views

To address performance issues experienced by some customers, a version of Read Live was released on October 18, 2013 that disabled a feature that tracks the amount of time a student spends working in Read Naturally Live. The ability to track a student's time spent working was restored on August 22, 2014.  However, reports (like the Level Summary report, Story Details report, and Students Yearly Progress report) will continue to show 0 for time spent working in a story for all stories started between October 18, 2013 and August 22, 2014. Time reported for stories completed before October 18, 2013 or started after August 22, 2014 will be accurate. For students with a story in-progress on October 18, 2013 or August 22, 2014, the reported time will be inaccurate.

During the period in which time was not tracked, you can look at how many stories a student finished in a week to get a sense of progress. In the Level Summary report, look at the dates that a student has finished stories, and see how many stories the student has completed in each week. Based on how many days per week the student works in Read Naturally and length of the class sessions, you can estimate how long students have worked. Use the rule of thumb that students should finish a story in 30–60 minutes to estimate how many stories you expect a student to finish in a week. For example, if a student works in 30-minute sessions four days a week, you would expect the student to finish two to four stories in a week.
