Read Live v3.19 Release Notes: Data Mentor for all Read Naturally Live Sequenced Students

What's New in This Release

Read Live version 3.19 includes significant enhancements to Read Naturally Live's Data Mentor feature. Small refinements to student independent placement are also included in this release.

Summary of changes

  • Read Naturally Live's Data Mentor feature can now offer suggestions for all students reading the Read Naturally Live Sequenced series. Data Mentor's suggestions no longer end after checking a student's initial placement. 
    • Suggestions may occur after any story during a student's work in Read Naturally Live's Sequenced series. 
    • Data Mentor's suggestions are based on a student's performance over time. Each story's work can change the suggestions shown to a teacher at the Pass/Review step.
    • As with checking a student's initial placement, for Data Mentor to make suggestions for a student that student must:
      • perform Cold Timings with a teacher present; and
      • complete the Quiz step in each story.
  • The Data Mentor interface has been simplified. 
    • The Decline button has been removed from Data Mentor. Teachers who do not wish to act on suggestions should simply ignore them. 
    • Data mentor will always make suggestions if recent valid story data indicates a suggestion may be warranted. Previously the Decline button had caused some suggestions not to be shown.
  • Independent Placement refinement:
    • In situations where a student's placement recording indicates a microphone-related issue, Read Live now prompts the teacher to conduct placement in person, to ensure accurate placement.
