2025 Read Live School of the Year Awards
San Juan, PR / Moline, IL / Goodyear, AZ / Laveen, AZ / Various Locations — Schools across North America have been recognized in the 2025 Read Live School of the Year awards for their effective use of Read Naturally's Read Live program to achieve significant gains in student literacy. Celebrating these schools aims to unite communities around educational success.
This year’s awards spotlight a variety of schools that have excelled at using the Read Live program to enhance literacy in both English and Spanish, meet diverse student needs, build students' self-confidence in reading, and demonstrate measurable gains on assessments and standardized tests.
Winner: Robinson School (San Juan, PR)
Robinson School adopted Read Live in 2023 with the aim of providing systematic, individualized, and multi-sensory reading instruction to students with language-based learning difficulties in English and Spanish. Since then, teachers are observing students grow not only in their decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills, but also in their confidence in reading and self-esteem.
Runners-Up: Hamilton Elementary School (Moline, IL), Las Brisas Academy (Goodyear, AZ), Laveen Elementary School (Laveen, AZ)
Hamilton Elementary School used Read Live in the past to support students needing intervention. They saw such great results that this year, they decided to implement the program across the entire third-grade level in an effort to support students’ transition from learning to read, to reading to learn.
Las Brisas Academy previously used Read Live only with intervention groups, but this year they introduced an initiative called Read Live Roadrunners where all first graders use Read Live for 30 minutes a day. Students are proud of their growth and are cheering each other on as they hit their targets.
Laveen Elementary School has used Read Live for the past five years to support students with reading disorders, students with neurodevelopmental disorders, and English language learners develop their reading skills. Students who previously felt “less than” now see themselves as capable readers.
Honorable Mentions:
Additional schools acknowledged for their outstanding efforts include Bodine School (Germantown, TN), Educational Pathways Academy (Bonita Springs, FL), Lehi Elementary School (Mesa, AZ), Metolius Elementary School (Metolius, OR), Roadways Literacy Academy (Saskatoon, SK), and Springmore Elementary School (Shelby, NC). Each has utilized Read Live to improve literacy outcomes and address diverse needs.
