In these uncertain times, students everywhere will benefit from familiarity and consistency. We are so grateful that our most popular program, Read Live, can be used in a distance-learning model to provide this kind of support.

As a web-based program, Read Live is ideally suited for use in a distance learning model. Of course, nothing can replace the learning that happens when students interact personally with their teacher. However, there are times when distance learning is the best, or only, option.

Unexpected school closures are difficult for educators, parents, and students. It’s especially stressful under the rapidly developing COVID-19 situation. We understand the difficulty you’re facing, and we are available to support you however we can. Read Live does allow for students to continue working outside of school. You can enter parents as Read Live Assistants allowing them to conduct timings, choose remedial actions, and pass stories.

Whenever I’m grappling with a difficult question, I remember the wise words of my favorite teacher. “Maybe this is not an either/or situation,” she once told me. “Maybe it’s a both, and.” In a world that often urges us to take sides and to feel only one way about something, it can be helpful to remember that a productive way forward frequently lies somewhere in the both, and. This wisdom can be applied to many situations, including… yes… effective reading intervention.

Congratulations Zachary J. from The Woodlands, TX on being named the February Star of the Month. Zachary is an eighth-grade student at Knox Junior High who has dyslexia and struggles with memorization. His teacher, Ms. Brown, saw Zachary's potential, and he is now up to a 5th grade reading level. Zachary was named Star of the month for his tenacity and tremendous growth this past year.

This parent-teacher conference season, we hope you have the pleasure of sharing great news about your students’ growth in reading. Many parents will wonder how they can help foster this growth at home. We have developed several handouts and programs specifically for this purpose, and spring conferences are a great time to offer these free resources to parents.
