2025 Read Live School of the Year

Robinson School receives a $2000 Read Naturally Gift Certificate.

Congratulations to our 2025 Read Live School of the Year, Robinson School!

Robinson School is dedicated to unlocking the potential of each unique student by providing individualized support. Its Pathways Program provides targeted intervention for students with language-based learning difficulties in both English and Spanish. The Pathways team adopted Read Live as a reading intervention tool in 2023 with the goal of providing students with a comprehensive, systematic, multi-sensory reading experience.

“Read Naturally Live has significantly improved our students’ decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills, as well as their confidence in reading and self-esteem,” reported one teacher. Another added, “We have seen students improve one grade level in reading fluency in just a few months.”

Students say they enjoy taking the quizzes, learning new words, and reading about real people and things. Teachers support the students by cheering them on when they earn medals, using graphs and reports to discuss progress and adapt instruction, and adjusting program options to customize each student’s experience based on their strengths and needs.

Robinson School is a model of excellence in literacy instruction and a very deserving winner of the Read Live School of the Year scholarship.

Robinson School's Pathways Program is a special education initiative that has supported Puerto Rican families for over 40 years. Among private schools on the island, we are leaders in teaching students with specific language-based learning differences, focusing on skill-based instruction in both English and Spanish.

The Pathways Program includes a daily special class called Tutorials. In this classroom, students receive one-on-one instruction based on their reading abilities. The Tutorials Team is trained to assess each student individually, measuring their decoding, fluency, accuracy, and reading comprehension skills. Using this information, we divide students into small groups and develop systematic, dynamic intervention lessons. As part of our weekly plan, we incorporate Read Live to complement and enhance their reading and language skill development. For many years, we used Read Naturally in a traditional manner. Now, Read Live has become an interactive tool that significantly boosts our students' reading skills.

We would be honored to be selected as the Read Live School of the Year because Read Live is transforming the lives of our students. This comprehensive intervention across all reading areas has proven to be a valuable resource in helping each student achieve their goals. Our students experience a sense of success every time they earn medals; they gain self-confidence and reassurance as they finish each story, exceed their reading goals, or advance to the next level. They are not just learning to read; they are also developing a sense of pride in their accomplishments with this program.

Winning this opportunity would be an honor for both us and our students. The compensation would enable us to keep the program running for another year and continue developing resources for our classroom. Our students are very excited about this competition; they worked hard to create this video, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
