Researchers in academic settings frequently conduct studies of our programs. Overwhelmingly, these studies demonstrate the positive effects of a Read Naturally intervention. For example, Dr. Jayna Jensen recently conducted a study in which Special Education students at a middle school in California used Read Naturally Software Edition (SE). The study found that the Read Naturally intervention produced statistically significant gains in the students’ California Modified English Assessment (CMA) scores.

To celebrate Read Live's fourth birthday, we solicited the help of Read Live’s best friends—a.k.a., our tech support staff. We asked them to tell about the growth and personality they’ve observed in Read Live over the years. Here are some fun facts:

We frequently encounter homeschool educators who are interested in using our materials. Often these educators have heard positive things about how our research-based programs work for struggling readers. Although our programs weren't specifically designed for use in a homeschool setting, many can be adapted to work well in this environment.

Last month, Read Naturally attended an early-learning conference to promote Funēmics, our phonemic awareness program. Many attendees were surprised to see us there. They expressed that early childhood educators should not be teaching reading to students before they’re ready. When we explained that Funēmics is a pre-reading curriculum that does not incorporate letters or written words, they were shocked. “But you’re a reading company,” they said.

Readnaturally.com a Top Site for Homeschool Reading Curriculum
The Internet is bursting with educational websites. It can be difficult to navigate this excess and find the sites that are really worth your time. For this reason, Homeschool.com compiles a yearly list of the top 100 educational websites. This list includes both homeschool-specific sites as well as the best sites for information and products related to math, reading, writing, science, and other content areas. We’re pleased to report that ReadNaturally.com is featured on the list as one of the top educational websites of 2015!

Read Naturally, Inc. was born out of research. In 1989, a reading teacher named Candyce Ihnot conducted a study in her classroom for her master’s thesis. Candyce applied three research-based methods (teacher modeling, repeated reading, and progress monitoring) in a simple set of steps in an attempt to improve her students’ reading fluency. Her approach proved to be highly effective and became the basis for the Read Naturally Strategy.

We’re pleased to announce that Funēmics®, our popular new phonemic awareness program, is a recent winner of the National Parenting Center’s Seal of Approval! This prestigious award is given seasonally to the highest quality products in the parent/child consumer market.

Read Naturally is packing and hauling our entire headquarters to a new office, still very close to the original location. The move will take place September 11 and 12, 2014. The Read Naturally office will close for a short time in the late afternoon/evening of September 11 but will otherwise remain open for business during its usual hours.
