ME Decision Assistant: Unable to generate reports

Symptoms:

You are unable to generate reports in ME Decision Assistant, and the following message is displayed: "The report could not be written. Please check to make sure you have permissions to create and write to files on your hard drive."

Solution:

This problem occurs when you have redirected the My Documents folder and specify the new location in Universal Naming Convention (UNC) format (e.g., \\computer_name \share_name).

There is no direct solution for this problem at this time. However, there are two possible workarounds:

  • Redirect the location of the My Documents folder using a drive-letter path (e.g., G:\myfolder) instead of a UNC path.
  • If specifying a drive-letter path is not feasible, consider creating a local user account for the teacher who is using ME Decision Assistant, so that the My Documents folder is not redirected. The teacher would only need to use the local account when generating ME Decision Assistant reports.
