​Read Live is a powerful tool for developing students’ fluency and phonics skills, supporting vocabulary, and promoting comprehension. To ensure you’re getting the most from Read Live, we have developed a new training opportunity that combines our Read Naturally Strategy workshop with instructor-led, hands-on training designed specifically for Read Live users.

The Read Live Hands-on Public Seminar is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) event. Each participant will need to have their own laptop computer. Note: Tablets (iPads, Androids, etc.) are not suitable for this training. Please refer to the information below to ensure your device meets the system requirements for this training.

Operating System Support

  • Windows 10 and higher
  • macOS 10.10 and higher
  • Chrome OS

Browser Support

  • Google Chrome versions 63 and higher (recommended)
  • Mozilla Firefox versions 60 and higher
  • Microsoft Chromium-based Edge versions 79 and higher
  • Apple Safari versions 11 and higher 

Connection Speed

  • 512 Kbps and faster (Dial-up connection is not supported.)

Resolution Support

  • 1024 by 768 and higher

Audio including recorded timings

  • Ability to play audio (headphones preferred)
  • Recorded timings require a microphone used with a supported browser. (Internet Explorer 11 and iPad do not currently support recordings.)

In the in-person Read Live Hands-on Seminar, you will learn…

  • How to combine the research-based strategies of teacher modeling, repeated reading, and progress monitoring to significantly improve fluency, support vocabulary, and promote comprehension in developing readers
  • How to enroll students in Read Live, activate licenses for students, and assign programs to students
  • How to determine the appropriate series, level, and goal for students to begin working in Read Naturally Live
  • The steps that students perform as they work through a story in Read Naturally Live
  • The steps that students perform as they work through an exercise in Word Warm-ups Live
  • The steps that students perform as they work through a story in One Minute Reader Live
  • Remedial tasks to assign when students do not pass a story or exercise
  • How to customize program options to maximize progress for each student in Read Live programs
  • How to monitor student progress using reports and make instructional adjustments when necessary
8:00–8:30 Check in
8:30–11:30 Strategy overview, placement, planning and setting up, student steps
11:30–12:45 Lunch on your own
12:45–3:30 Program adjustments, running reports, data analysis
