Software Edition v2.1.2 Update
This page provides information about the 2.1.2 update for Read Naturally Software Edition. We strongly recommend that all customers who purchased and received previous versions of SE Network Plus v2.1 and SE Stand-Alone v2.0.x download and install this free update.
Note: This update can only be applied to SE v2.1 Network Plus and SE v2.1.1 Network Plus, and SE v2.0 Stand-Alone installations. This update cannot be applied to SE v2.0.x Network installations.
About the Update
The primary focus of the changes in the Read Naturally SE 2.1.2 update is to accommodate our new Spanish curriculum. In addition, this update allows our stand-alone customers to take advantage of all of the improvements implemented in the Network Plus release (SE 2.1.x), including an improved placement program and more curriculum choices. This update also includes improvements requested by our customers, fixes for problems discovered after SE Network Plus 2.1 was released, and all fixes and improvements included in previous releases (SE 2.1 and SE 2.1.1).

Downloading the Update and Installation Instructions
There are different SE 2.1.2 update files for the different operating systems and installation types. It is important that you download and install the correct version for your system.
To determine whether you have a Stand-Alone or Network Plus installation:
- Double-click the Read Naturally icon to display the Read Naturally login screen.
- Look up the Read Naturally version:
- For Windows, choose About Read Naturally from the Help menu.
- For Macintosh, choose About Read Naturally from the Read Naturally SE menu.
- After the version number, "Stand-Alone" indicates that you have a stand-alone installation, and "District" or "School" indicates that you have a Network Plus installation.
The following tables specify which installation instructions and installation file apply to each operating system and installation type.
SE Stand-Alone Updates
Note: Customers with Read Naturally SE Stand-Alone v2.1.3 and earlier releases of SE v2.x can update their software directly to SE v2.1.4 without needing to first apply the SE v2.1.2 update.
SE Network Plus Updates
To update SE Network Plus installations, you download the server update file to the computer that is hosting the SE server software. This server update file includes files for updating the SE server software, files for installing new SE clients (Windows, Mac OS 9, and Mac OS X), and files required for manually and automatically applying the SE 2.1.2 update to previously installed SE clients.
The content updates are optional and only require changes to the server files (no changes to SE clients). For details about the corrections in the content updates, see the installation instructions for the content updates.
