How to make sure a Windows server is configured to use a static IP address
The computer that hosts the SE server software must be configured to use a static IP address (not a dynamically assigned IP address).
To make sure a Windows server is configured to use a static IP address:
- From the server computer, select Start > Control Panel and then double-click Network Connections.
- Locate the icon for your local area network connection, right-click it, and choose Properties.
- From the General tab, choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
- From the General tab, make sure Use the following IP address is selected and that an IP address is specified.
- If an IP address is not specified, contact your school or district's technical support department.
