Start/Stop utility for Mac OS X servers

Description:
A ServerStartStop utility is now available for SE v2.1.x customers with Mac OS X servers. Using this utility avoids having to open a Terminal window in order to start and stop the RNSE Server process (mysqld) on a Mac OS X server.

To download and use the start/stop utility:

  1. Click to download the following file: ServerStartStop_np.app.zip
  2. Double-click the downloaded file to extract the utility.
  3. Copy the ServerStartStop utility and paste it into the following folder: Macintosh HD/Applications/RNSENetworkPlus/RNSEServer/
  4. To use the utility, double-click the ServerStartStop file, and then click Stop to stop the RNSE Server process (mysqld) or click Start to start it. Click Quit to close the utility.

Note for customers with Windows servers:
The ServerStartStop utility is not available for Windows servers because you can easily start and stop the RNSE Server service by performing these steps:

  1. Choose Run from the Windows Start menu.
  2. Type services.msc and click OK.
  3. Find RNSEServerNetPlus in the list of services, right-click it, and choose Stop, Start, or Restart.
