Quiz results exceed 100% correct

Operating System: Windows or Mac OS

SE Version: SE v2.1, v2.1.1, v2.1.2

The quiz results for a story can exceed 100% correct if either of the following situations occurs during the Pass step in SE.

Problem 1:
You click Cancel during the Pass step (after evaluating the student's answers to the quiz questions), and the student does not log out and back in. You will be asked to re-evaluate the student's answers to the open-ended questions, but doing so increments the number of questions answered correctly over 100% (for example, 12/9). This problem occurs because canceling does not clear the previous evaluations of the open-ended questions.

Workaround for Problem 1:
You can prevent this problem by logging out (quitting the program), exiting the login screen, and then logging back in as the student. You can then continue with the Pass step. Once the quiz results are over 100%, the only way to fix the problem is to reset the story.

Problem 2:
You click Change Scores during the Pass step (to change the number of errors, for example). You will be asked to re-evaluate the student's answers to the open-ended questions, but doing so increments the number of questions answered correctly over 100% (for example 12/9). The problem occurs because clicking Change Scores does not clear the previous evaluations of the open-ended questions.

Workaround for Problem 2:
There is no known workaround for this problem. Once the quiz results are over 100%, the only way to fix the problem is to reset the story.

Solution:
This problem has been fixed in SE v2.1.3 and later releases. The most recent update, SE v2.1.4, also includes this fix. SE v2.1.4 is a free update for customers who have earlier versions of SE v2.1.x.
