Why do I have so many licenses for Benchmark Assessor Live?
Read Live consists of these applications:
- Benchmark Assessor Live is a benchmark reading assessment that enables teachers to determine which students are proficient in reading and which students may be at risk by tracking their results against national norms. Teachers can test students using Benchmark Assessor Live three times a year using grade-level passages (grades 1–8). Testing students with Benchmark Assessor Live is one way to screen students and identify which students should work in Read Naturally Live.
- Read Naturally Live is a reading intervention for beginning and struggling readers that builds fluency and comprehension while also supporting vocabulary and phonics development.
If you purchased a Read Naturally Live license before 5/1/2012, you may have also received a number of complementary Benchmark Assessor Live licenses. The comparatively large number of Benchmark Assessor Live licenses enables you to screen your entire class or school for at-risk readers and identify which of your students need a reading intervention like Read Naturally Live.
Note: As of 5/1/2012, Benchmark Assessor Live licenses are no longer included at no charge with new Read Live subscriptions. Current subscribers retain all Benchmark Assessor Live licenses for the duration of their existing subscription period at no additional charge. New Read Live subscribers may purchase Benchmark Assessor Live licenses separately.
Use of Benchmark Assessor Live is optional; your school may already use a different assessment tool (such as DIBELS) to identify which students need extra help in reading.
Note: Do not attempt to use Benchmark Assessor Live results to place students in Read Naturally Live. To correctly identify the level of material the student should work in, use the Read Naturally Live placement test.
