My teacher password is not working. What should I do?
Make sure you are in the right program. The Teacher Management System is blue, while the Student Stories program is yellow. Make sure your screen is blue.
To start the Teacher Management program in Windows, open Start > Programs > Read Naturally > Teacher Management. To start the Teacher Management program on the Mac, go to the Macintosh HD and open the Read Naturally folder, then the Teacher Management folder.
If you are in the Teacher Management system and the password is still not working, try the following to remedy the problem:
Determine whether someone has already set up a Teacher account with a password. If so, your password will no longer work and you will need access to the existing password. Also, make sure you entered the password exactly as it was initially set up. Check your upper and lower cases, check the spelling, and check to see whether the caps lock is inadvertently turned on.
If a Teacher account has not been set up and the password will still not work, you are probably encountering a problem with the network setup.
If you are using Windows, make sure you have a drive letter mapped to the shared folder you set up for Read Naturally. See the SE Installation Guide for more information.
Once you have a drive letter mapped, then go into the RN Server folder on your server and open the RNInst0612 file in notepad, make sure the drive letter and path you have set under My Computer is what is shown in this file, if not make corrections and save this file. Then launch the Teacher Management application and try the rnse password again
Then on the workstation go to start/programs/readnaturally/uninstall run the uninstall then run installwkstnwin again to reinstall the client application.
If using Macintosh OS 9, check that your network drive volume for Read Naturally is mounted on your desktop. Then go into your Macintosh HD hard drive to the Read Naturally folder, then launch the application Client Management Launch, this program will walk you through setting the path back to the RN Server folder on your server drive.
You will be prompted to launch the Teacher Management program, please do so and try to log in with rnse as the password.
