What are the server requirements for the network version of Read Naturally SE version 1.6?

Read Naturally SE version 1.6 applications run on the workstations, not the server. The server just stores the stories and user data, so you can use most server operating systems for them, including Windows, Mac OS, and Novell NetWare.

The only real requirement for the server is storage space—about 250 MB per level. If you want to run Read Naturally cross- platform—that is, use both Macintosh and Windows workstations—then the server space required doubles to 500 MB per level.

There are workarounds for the server space requirement, such as installing the stories and user data on a newer workstation with peer-to-peer file sharing instead of a server. But Macintosh computers are limited to 10 user connections at a time when using the Apple file sharing protocol (AFP). So if you need more connections than that, you need a server operating system to handle the connections.
