On a Macintosh computer, why am I getting an error saying, "Unable to connect to server. Check to see if server is mounted on desktop"?
This error usually means the path is not set correctly, or the computer is not connected to the server. Try this:
- Check to see if the server or shared folder is mounted on the Macintosh desktop. If it is not shown, it means the workstation is not connected to the server.
- If the server or shared folder is shown, try correcting the path
to RN Server as follows:
- Open the Read Naturally folder on the local hard drive and double-click on either Client Mgmt Launch or SetProgPath.
- Follow the instructions and when prompted, specify the location where RN Server is installed.
- If this does not take care of the problem, try the following:
- Go to the workstation's hard drive, open the System folder, scroll down to the RNinst0612 file, and double-click to open it.
- Check the first line of the file to see if it matches the path to the RN Server folder. If necessary, change it to match the actual path.
- Save and close the file.
