The teacher or administrator receives an error when they try to delete a student (network installations).

For Windows servers, make sure your computer user name has read and write access to the RN Server folder:

  1. Right-click the RN Server folder and choose Properties. (The default location for the RN Server folder is in C:\Program Files.)
  2. Choose the Security tab.
  3. In the Group or User Names field, choose your user name.
  4. Check the Read and Write checkboxes.
  5. Click OK.

For Mac OS X servers, make sure your computer user name has read and write access to the RN Server folder:

  1. Control-click the RN Server folder and choose Get Info.
  2. Under Ownerships & Permissions, choose Read & Write from the drop-down list. If necessary, click the arrow to expand Ownerships & Permissions.
Note: If you don’t see the Security tab or your user name (Windows) or are not able to change the Ownerships & Permissions settings (Mac OS X), you may not have permission to change your own security settings. Log in as an administrator or contact your IT administrator to give your user name full control of the RN Server folder.

For Macintosh OS 9 servers, this error message indicates that your database is corrupted. Download and run the data repair utility that is available on the SE v1.6 Utilities page. Be sure to back up your data files before running the utility.
