Retell Screen
In the Retell step, students retell information from the story in their own words. This step provides the teacher with information about the students' ability to comprehend and recall what they read.
The more fluent students become, the more they will be able to focus on comprehension. Teachers will note this improvement as their retells become more thorough.
Note: Students using the phonics levels do not complete this step. Instead, they practice reading word lists after passing the story. |
Screen Highlights
- Students type their retell in the box under the story title.
- If students want to review the story before or while typing their retell, they can click the Review Story button. Students may only review the story one time.
- Teachers can specify the number of minutes allowed for this step. If the time the teacher has set for this step expires, the program automatically advances to the next step.
