One Minute Reader
One Minute Reader
Developing readers need as much practice as they can get. One Minute Reader, created for home use, gives them that opportunity. Based on the same strategy as Read Naturally’s classroom programs, One Minute Reader is designed to help students improve their fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. As a result, many students show increased confidence, self-esteem, and interest in learning.
One Minute Reader provides high-interest, age-appropriate stories and audio recordings (entirely different from those created for the Read Naturally program), along with fun, interactive tools that allow students to see themselves progress quickly. Because all of the instructions are on the audio CD and an instructional DVD, One Minute Reader can be used independently even if no proficient reader is available in the home.
Read Naturally also offers One Minute Reader school-to-home materials, which allow students to check out books and audio CDs, using separate record sheets rather than writing in the books themselves.
What's Included
Starter Kits
A starter kit includes everything a student needs to get started: a book with an audio CD, a timer, a red/blue graphing pencil, and an instructional DVD that explains how the program works, all packaged in a sturdy storage album.
Books With Audio CDs
Additional books are available for each level. Each One Minute Reader book includes five high-interest stories, comprehension questions, a crossword puzzle, a glossary, a graph for cold and hot scores, achievement stickers, and an audio CD that includes each story recorded at three different speeds and recordings of all the glossary words and their definitions.
