Read Naturally Masters Edition has a new look, many upgrades, and a new name for the Sequenced series and the Phonics series: Read Naturally Encore!

Read Naturally Encore develops fluency, supports vocabulary, and promotes comprehension using the powerful, research-based Read Naturally strategy. Students working in Encore use stories printed from blackline masters and audio CDs.

Read Naturally Encore enables a student to work on fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension at his or her own pace in an appropriate level of material. The student masters each story by reading along with a recording of a fluent reader and then practicing the story until he or she is able to read it accurately and reach his or her goal. The student gains confidence by tracking the progress from the initial reading to the final reading of each story.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN EACH ENCORE LEVEL

Each level of Read Naturally Encore includes the following:

  • 24 high-interest, nonfiction stories with comprehension questions, in blackline master
  • 12 audio CDs with two stories per CD: key words, definitions, stories, new expressive-rate read alongs, Spanish translations (in Sequenced levels 1.0–4.5), and phonics lessons and word lists (Phonics levels)
  • One glossary for each level
  • Extra resources on our website: certificates in color, blackline masters for glossaries, crossword puzzles, additional graphs, and more!

THE SAME GREAT CURRICULUM, NOW UPDATED AND EXPANDED

Fresh Look: Encore retains the familiar elements found in Read Naturally Masters Edition and is designed so teachers can use a mix of Encore and Masters Edition levels.

New and Revised Stories: Encore presents many new topics, illustrations, and revised stories.

More Vocabulary: Encore includes an audio-supported glossary with student-friendly definitions and color illustrations with each level.

Additional Questions: Encore has a new vocabulary question in levels 3.0–5.0, a new sequencing/cloze question in levels 4.0–5.0, and more comparison questions at the higher levels.

New Spanish Audio: Encore provides an optional audio translation of the story in Sequenced levels 1.0–4.5. ELL students can listen to this audio to build vocabulary and background knowledge before completing the steps in English.

Improved Phonics Lessons and Word Lists: Encore Phonics levels combine expanded phonics lessons with revised, audio-supported word lists.

Expressive Read Along: The third Encore read along for each story is at an expressive rate.

Free Resources on Our Website: Read Naturally has many online resources for Encore, including certificates in color, blackline masters for glossaries, additional graphs, and crossword puzzles for each story.

The Sequenced series uses the principles of the Read Naturally strategy to develop fluency and promote vocabulary and comprehension development. Each level in the series includes 24 high-interest nonfiction stories.

Encore Phonics Series
The Phonics series uses the principles of the Read Naturally strategy to develop fluency and phonics. The phonics levels feature stories and word lists that give students practice with particular sounds. Each level in the series includes 24 high-interest nonfiction stories.
Levels Available: 0.8 (Word Families/Short Vowels), 1.3 (Word Families/Long Vowels), 1.8 (Blends and Digraphs), 2.3 (R-Controlled and Other Letter Combinations), 2.6 (Short Vowels), 2.7 (Long Vowels)
