This affordable professional development option combines Read Naturally’s professionally produced self-study programs with a live, 60-minute question-and-answer session with a Read Naturally expert by telephone and over the Internet.

The steps included in the Self-Study Plus options are summarized below.
Step 1: Watch the Videos
Gain a solid understanding of the Read Naturally strategy and instructional program by watching the Read Naturally Video Workshop For Teachers (included). We recommend scheduling the video sessions as a group activity. After each video segment, you can facilitate a group discussion using the topics and scenarios described in the accompanying study guide.
Step 2: Work Through the Read Naturally SE Self-Study Course
(Only for Read Naturally SE)
If your school is implementing Read Naturally SE, have each teacher work through the hands-on exercises in the Read Naturally SE Self-Study Course independently to gain a deeper understanding of the unique features of the software program. By using the training software and step-by-step workbook, teachers will become comfortable with setting up, placing students, and monitoring progress, and learn first-hand how students work through the steps at the computer.
Step 3: Live Q&A Session
After your Read Naturally program is up and running, schedule a live question-and-answer session with a Read Naturally expert. Get immediate answers to questions or concerns that came up as you began implementing the program and working with students. Participants who have completed the self-study activities will gain even more understanding as they participate in the teleconference with online interaction provided over the Internet.
