How to add levels to Read Naturally SE version 2.0 when it's already installed

If you have already installed Read Naturally SE version 2.0 but you need to add levels (for example, you may have purchased more levels), you can add the new levels without having to re-install the software.

Stand-Alone Installations
To add levels to a stand-alone installation of Read Naturally SE version 2.0:

  1. Insert the Stand-Alone Software Installation CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive.
  2. If necessary, open the folder for the CD.
  3. If you are using Mac OS 9, open the Open_To_Install_OS9 folder. If you are using Mac OS X, open the Open_To_Install_OSX folder.
  4. Double-click the Read Naturally install icon:
    • If you are using Windows, double-click the RNSAInstall_Win.exe icon. (The installer may start automatically.)
    • If you are using Mac OS 9, double-click the RNSAInstall_Mac-9 icon.
    • If you are using Mac OS X, double-click the RNSAInstall_Mac-X icon.
  5. In the dialog that asks whether you want to re-install or add levels, click Add Level.
  6. In the installation window, enter the license numbers for each level you are adding. For each license, enter the two-part license number in the boxes and click Add License. The licenses are added to the table.
  7. After you have added all of your licenses, click Next.
  8. Click Done. The Getting Started screen displays.
  9. If you want to set up teachers, classes, and students at this time, click Yes. If you want to quit without setting up data, click No.

Network Version
To add levels to a network installation of Read Naturally SE version 2.0:

  1. Insert the Network Software Installation CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive.
  2. If necessary, open the folder for the CD.
  3. Double-click the Read Naturally install icon:
    • If you are using Windows, double-click the RNServerInstall_Win.exe icon. (The installer may start automatically.)
    • If you are using Mac OS X, double-click the RNServerInstall_Mac icon.
  4. In the dialog that asks whether you want to re-install or add levels, click Add Level.
  5. In the installation window, enter the license numbers for each level you are adding. For each license, enter the two-part license number in the boxes and click Add License. The licenses are added to the table.
  6. After you have added all of your licenses, click Next.
  7. Click Done. The Getting Started screen displays.
  8. Copy the files to the server by performing these steps:
    1. Insert the first level CD into the CD drive of the server.
    2. In the dialog that asks if you would like to copy the levels to the server, click Yes.
    3. The file-copy program should automatically locate the folder on the CD that contains the stories. If it doesn't, you can click the Browse button, locate and select the /StoryFiles/<level>/ folder on the CD, and then click OK.
    4. In most cases, you should not change the location where the story files will be copied. If for some reason you need to change it, you can click the Browse button and then choose a new location and click OK.
    5. Click Copy to start copying the stories to the server.
    6. When the copying is finished, you will see a "Done" message.
    7. To copy additional stories to the server, insert a new level CD into the CD drive of the server and repeat the process.
    8. Click Exit when you are done copying levels.
