Free Webcast Explains How Read Naturally Programs and Tools Fit an RTI Model

A new free webcast can help you gain a better understanding of how Read Naturally reading programs and assessment tools fit into a Response to Intervention (RTI) model. The first RTI webcasts are scheduled for Jan. 29 at 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. Central Standard Time.

Webcasts RTI has gained acceptance as an effective model for collaboration between special education and general education staff. A key characteristic of the RTI model is a shift from a “wait to fail” approach to one where all students receive high-quality instruction and, when needed, intervention that includes research-based reading programs.

Our webcasts are live, web-based presentations you can watch for free from your school or home. All you need to participate is a telephone and either a Mac or Windows PC with access to a high-speed Internet connection. You view the presentation with your web browser, so no special software is required.

In addition to a presentation by one of Read Naturally’s experts, our webcasts include an opportunity to ask your own questions. With a better understanding of our programs and tools, you’ll be able to make decisions about which ones are right for your school.

At the RTI webcast, you will learn:

  • How Read Naturally’s benchmark assessment and progress monitoring tools are used in schools to provide data for making decisions in an RTI model.
  • How Read Naturally intervention programs are used in schools to reinforce instruction for students served in Tier 1 and as interventions for students served in Tier 2 and Tier 3.
  • How Read Naturally interventions fit within the context of your core curriculum in an RTI model.
  • What your school needs to successfully implement the assessments and programs.

In addition to RTI, our webcasts discuss other topics such as the powerful Read Naturally strategy, the computer-based Read Naturally Software Edition, our fluency assessment tools (benchmark and progress monitoring), and One Minute Reader, our home reading program.

Parents and teachers who might be interested in One Minute Reader as a home reading program are also encouraged to watch the One Minute Reader webcast.
