Company New Video Workshop Helps Read Naturally Assistants Learn How to Work With Students
Read Naturally has released a special version of its Read Naturally Video Workshop that is aimed at paraprofessionals and classroom volunteers who work with students in Read Naturally programs. Read Naturally Video Workshop for Assistants is a shorter version of the Read Naturally Video Workshop for teachers, which was released last year.
Featuring 42 minutes of video training, the assistants’ version of the video workshop teaches key skills that assistants need to work with students in Read Naturally Masters Edition and Software Edition programs. Topics include:
- Introduction to the steps
- The role of the assistant
- Conducting a one-minute timing
- Passing students
- Reporting student progress to teachers
- Working through a story with the software
In addition to the DVD, the Video Workshop for Assistants includes a study guide, which contains reproducible summaries that reinforce key points, handouts for participating in video practice activities, practice problems for reviewing important points, timer instructions, and job aids that facilitate communication between teachers and assistants.
