Get your books ready! It’s NEA’s Read Across America Day! This year’s celebration is today – Dr. Seuss’s Birthday. Schools, libraries, and other community organizations across the country are gathering to celebrate reading.
This year’s campaign showcases Dr. Seuss’s the Lorax and the theme is green. Schools and other community organizations can make a pledge to participate on the NEA website. The website also includes Lorax resources for the classroom, including information on the Lorax Project, a project designed to protect forests and endangered species.
The Seussville website has plenty of resources to get your class involved! You can print off bookmarks, find local events, and download NEA’s activity booklet.
