Back in the early 1990s when Read Naturally was developed by a special education teacher, our main clientele were other classroom teachers and brick and mortar schools. But over the years, we have developed a relationship with a small, but mighty, group of homeschool customers. They each found ways to adapt the materials to their unique situations.
When we launched Read Live last summer, we knew that the web-based platform would make the program more readily available in all kinds of learning environments. The homeschool community was no exception! In June, we began talks with folks at The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, a magazine for homeschool families. They have a group of innovative households called the TOS Homeschool Crew who review products and post blog entries about whether the program or product worked for their families.
We were so excited to read the feedback. Debra at Footprints in the Butter wrote about how her son’s reading progress halted in 2nd grade and that progress since has been slow. She included a really thoughtful and detailed account of how Read Live showed some really encouraging promise. Julie at A Teaching Heart shared that in a house of people who love to read, she has one son who would do anything to avoid it. His thoughts after using Read Live? He enjoyed the program and said Read Live is a fun way to read. We are so thankful to the 20 families who took the time to really dig into the program and leave their honest opinions.
